Like most female artists of the early Twentieth century, O’Kelley endured far greater hardships than worldweariness male counterparts, made double challenging by the low-cost hardships faced by the Appalachian community during that time.
O&#;Kelley was born in on her family’s farm near Maysville, Georgia.
